  32. For the discrimination function of a voice modem to work it has to 
  33. answer the call before determining whether it is a fax or voice message; 
  34. the number of rings to answer will have to be the same in both setups, 
  35. otherwise the discriminator is void and which ever is set to answer 
  36. first will try to receive or disconnect
